Volunteer at the Griffith History Museums!
Whether you’re retired and looking for something to do, or a high school or college student looking for a resume builder, or anywhere in between, we would LOVE your help!
Email [email protected] (or fill out our Contact Form) if you’d like to volunteer!
We’re always looking for assistance of any kind, but currently especially:
- In person “Railcar Guides” – Volunteers who will help us staff the Train Car Museums when they are open select Sundays in the summer. You’ll help to make sure visitors and children are safe in the cars, and we’ll give you a written script of what to point out as important or fun or interesting in the cars. Someone will also be in the Depot or Tower to answer any questions you might have. Hours are 1pm – 4pm. Current Sundays on the calendar are: May 4, 18; June 1, 15; July 13, 27; August 3, 10, 31. Email [email protected] (or fill out our Contact Form) if you can help any or all dates!
- Museum Assistants – to help with the sorting and organization of archive documents and media for cataloging, and the development and preparation of new displays for our museums. Estimate of 2 – 4 hours a week. Schedule flexible.
- Chess Teachers – We have chessboards on our picnic tables at the Depot! We’d love to have someone who can engage with our visitors and possibly add in casual chess lessons. Let us know your schedule, or join us for our Sundays at the Depot.
- Community Engagement – and fundraising. We are looking for individuals who can contribute a cheerful outlook to handing out fliers to businesses, share and promote our online posts, and who knows what else! If you can donate 2 – 4 hours a week of your time, you could help us immensely!
Email [email protected] (or fill out our Contact Form) if you’d like to volunteer!
And don’t forget to become a member of our museums today!
